Christian Youth Group Fund Raiser

Youth Group Fund Raiser

This is an open letter to all youth ministers that need to raise money…We are here to help you do just that.

We have a product that will not only help you raise money but this product will also help you point people to Jesus.  “How do we do that?”, you might ask.  We have developed a fund raising idea that combines money raising and “Good News” proclaiming.

Imagine a product that demands a question.  “What is that?” Or “Where did you get that?” Also picture a logo that does not resemble anything you could associate with Christianity.

We are about to unveil this revolutionary product that will not only help you with your budget, it will add to the Kingdom of Heaven.

We are very close to turning this loose on the world.  To God be the glory.

Until next time remember, You overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of your testimony and by not loving your life, even to the death.  (Revelation 12:11)

Christian Fund Raising Idea

Christian Fund Raising Idea

In the last post you may recall we talked about an idea to combine fund raising while pointing people to Jesus.  Here is what we came up with (while fasting and prayer of course).

Fund raising dogHere is how most fund raisers work: Each organization sets a goal to raise (X) amount of dollars.  The group then rallies around the goal (usually an amount of money needed) and they begin to work to reach their goal.

Again, let me go on the record as saying there is nothing wrong with this method from a business perspective but from a scriptural  perspective, it stinks.

Here is our fund raising idea, instead of using the money being raised as your group’s goal, pick something your group can rally behind. Why not decide to help someone in your local community and set that as your goal?

Example: You need to raise money for a mission trip to Mexico. You need $5,000.  During your search for a worth while community project, someone in your group finds out the police department does not have enough money in their budget to buy a bullet proof vest.Raising Money

The need is there, the money is not. Talk, pray then decide in the name of Jesus to raise enough money to get the bullet proof vest.

Here is how this works, your group needs $5,000, the bullet proof vest costs $1,000, the cost is 20% of your total (That was not an accident) so every $1.00 raised in the fundraiser $0.20 goes to the vest.

This will accomplish two things.  First, it gets your group’s focus off of money and on to something tangible the group knows is needed.  Second, the group leader has a different motivating factor to rally his or her group around.

Here is the really cool part, when you set the fund raiser up correctly, you will reach your goal.  The group gets to present the vest to the police department and as a side note, they also raise $5,000 to go on their mission trip.

This is a true win-win situation that we at 1211 Clothing believe God can truly get behind and bless.  Next post, we go into greater detail on how to get started on your next Christian fund raiser pointing people to Jesus.

Until next time remember, You overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of your testimony and by not loving your life, even to the death.  (Revelation 12:11)

Church Fund Raising

Church Fund Raising

What makes a church fund raiser a success?  Well that depends on what each organization defines as a success.

That sounds like double speak, but as we study church fund raising one of the problems we find is most organizations concentrate only on raising money.  This is ok for most organizations but it doesn’t look good for God’s people.

Why is this a problem?  Jesus said, “you can not serve God and mammon”. (Luke 16:13) Sounds like He is saying “pick a side” doesn’t it?  We are choosing God, not money.  So how do you serve God while trying to raise money?  Great question, we believe the answer is found by taking you eyes off of yourself/organization and on looking to God.

You could argue whenever you raise money for a church, you are “doing the work of God”.  Not necessarily, when the crowd asked Jesus in John 6:28 “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

We at 1211 Christian Clothing believe you can do a fund raiser that pleases God.  Here is a hint, it combines what Jesus said in John 6:29 and what God commanded in Exodus 20:3.

God is first, and everything you do points people to Jesus.  So how do you do that?  We believe we have a fund raising idea that pleases God.  In our next post we will lay out our fund raising idea and let you judge.
